Đậu xanh không vỏ đãi sạch cắt, bỏ hạt hỏng, ngâm nước ít nhất 3 tiếng hay qua đêm cho nở. Sau đó vo sạch.
Cho đậu xanh sau khi vo thì cho vào nồi cùng lá dứa và 800ml nước, 1/8 muỗng cà phê muối, đặt nồi lên bếp nấu cho đần khi đậu xanh chín mềm, nước cạn thì tắt bếp. Vớt bỏ lá dứa. Cho đậu xanh còn nóng cùng 100ml nước cốt dừa, 80g đường, 1/8 muỗng cà phê muối vào máy xay nhuyễn.
Đổ đậu xanh xay nhuyễn vào chảo hay nồi, sau đó bắt lên bếp sên với lửa nhỏ cho đến khi nào đậu xanh quyện thành 1 khối không dính chảo thì tắt bếp. Thời gian sên khoảng 25-30 phút . Để đậu xanh hơi nguội mới đóng bánh.
Cho đậu xanh sên nhuyễn vào khuôn rồi ấn, chà láng mặt, sau đó nhẹ nhàng gõ nhẹ để lấy bánh ra là hoàn tất.
